Arming Yourself For Physical Health In Today’s Environment

“There is nothing more important than your health.” We’ve all heard this statement a few times before, but for those of us who have had health problems in our lives, it resonates on a more profound level. When you’re dealing with an illness or imbalance in your body not only can it suck a lot of your vital physical energy, but it also has a deeper effect emotionally, and can diminish all other areas of your life. In truth, not having your health means you cannot enjoy life to the fullest or live as your best self. 

We live in an era where environmental pollution is heavy, toxins are being blasted into our atmosphere in more ways than we can count. From geo engineering/weather manipulation and it’s effects, case in point the recent geo storms in Texas and Puerto Rico and the fires in California, Spain and Portugal; to chemtrails blazing the skies; fluoride and heavy metal laden public water supplies; genetically modified, processed, sugar and chemical laden ‘fake’ food; toxic personal care and household products; volatile organic compounds, indoor and outdoor; EMF bombardment (from the electronic soup we swim in); excessive radiation; and for those who are taking medications, toxicity at the hands of Big Pharma. All of these factors combined can quickly push the body toward imbalance and illness, so we must become health warriors, arming ourselves with the right weapons to maintain physical health! The wonderful thing about the human body is that it’s a super computer, one that is very responsive to the right fuel and a healthy environment.

First and foremost we need to be communing with mother earth. How much time do you spend in nature? Walking barefoot on land, sitting on a beach, taking ocean, river or lake swims, hiking nature trails, and gardening or even sitting in a garden are all ways to achieve this. The healing energy of mother earth is your number one defense against all stress, imbalance, and energetic attacks. Earth energy also completely balances out harmful EMF’s. Start with just an hour or two a week and you’ll immediately notice the difference. Ideally you should spend a little time daily in nature, but if circumstances don’t allow then minimum once weekly for a few hours.

Second to that I’m going to offer some basic tools and tips that you can implement to fuel your body properly and create a healthier living environment:

  • Air: is paramount. Outdoor air pollution notwithstanding, the amount of indoor air pollution sources might surprise you. Combat these by using a high quality air filtration system, one that offers true hepa along with uv lamp, making sure you put in the right unit for room size. I use the Germ Guardian 3 in 1, which is relatively inexpensive but works really well.   • Water: second to air. Anyone who uses public water supply in their home must invest in a water filtration unit or system, plain and simple. As highlighted below in my pick of the month, I use Structured Water units, both for drinking water and for bath/shower, of equal importance as we absorb most water through the pores in our skin. If you’re currently only using a Brita or the like, you aren’t doing yourself any favours, so if you require further recommendations please contact me and I’ll be happy to share more about structured water or offer additional suggestions.
  • Food: fuel. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, avoid or heavily limit your intake of GMO’s and processed ‘fake’ food. Eat organic and/or biodynamic as much as possible, vegetables and fruits, nuts and seeds, the right grains (if suitable for your body), and for meat-eaters, organic grass fed/free range animals and eggs, along with sustainably wild caught fish. I find a good rule to follow is the 80:20, eat 80% whole foods closest to their source or minimally processed. Of course allow yourself a treat or binge sometimes too!
  • Supplements: it is of paramount importance you understand the concept of ‘bio-individuality’  as I wrote about in a previous article. Source the highest quality supplements based on what your body truly calls for, not what you think might be good, or what is currently being hyped. Many over the counter supplements are not of the best quality and therefore not absorbed by your body. I recommend working with a functional medicine practitioner to find the right program and products.
  • Personal care, make up and household products: often people don’t realize how much of an impact our daily personal care and household products have on our health. If you haven’t already, switch to the non-toxic versions.   • EMF neutralizers: of huge importance in today’s world! We can take all this much deeper, but today’s purpose is not to overwhelm, rather to give you some simple steps you can apply almost immediately. I hope you’ll take the time to research these and make your own new choices. The quality of your health certainly depends on it.
